What does a Bookkeeper do?
A bookkeepers responsibilities will vary from client to client, but at a minimum they should be doing the following:
- Track and properly record accounting activities
- Provides accurate reports reflecting your business activities so you can make decisions that will keep your business moving forward
- Produce invoices and receipts for clients
- Manage and process all payments and expenses
- Perform bank reconciliations- making sure everything that is meant to be coming in and going out is actually coming in and going out
- Processing payroll
- Extracting activity statements
- Year end payroll processes
- Budgets
